ISDN

Requires an ISDN phone line from your local phone company (approximately $88.00 per month). Can be accessed using an ISDN modem or via router into your HUB. Ideal for small office LAN environment of two to ten workstations. Allow 5 business days for ISDN phone line to be installed. Stable and dependable.

Frame Relay

Frame Relay provides asynchronous connections for customers who need speeds faster than ISDN but do not require the ultra high speeds of a burstable T-1 or for those customers for which local loop prices are too expensive due to distance. We maintain a full DS-3 ATM Frame cloud. Call to get a quote on the phone company rate for the frame circuit into our frame relay cloud.

Burstable T-1

Unlike other Internet providers, you are charged only for the bandwidth that you actually use each month. Service charges are measured on the "sustained mean average" of your monthly usage.

What is Burstable T-1 Billing?

Introduction: Unlike other Internet service providers in the area, Brick Network bills you only for the "mean average" bandwidth that you use each month. Your T-1 line is capable of sustaining a 1.5Mb per second transfer rate. You occasionally may use the entire 1.5Mb/sec bandwidth available to you but you will only be charged for the "mean average" for any one month period.

Concept: The above monthly profile chart shows the typical bandwidth usage for T-1 access by a customer. Note that use of the T-1 is highest during normal business hours. The lack of use during evening and early morning hours is factored in to the monthly "mean sustained average" billing method, thus decreasing the cost. Although the customer in this case often uses 500Kb to 1Mb "bursts" of bandwidth, the mean sustained average for the month is only 96.5 Kb, because the low Internet activity during weekends and evening hours was balanced against the high activity during business hours. Other Internet providers charge by taking an average of the usage peaks to calculate your monthly charges. If monthly access was calculated using their method, your monthly bill would be much higher.

Example: Using the "Peak Usage" of 800.2 kb/s, the cost of this month of access would be about $1,250.00 at other Internet companies which charge a "flat fee" for a T-1, no matter how much bandwidth you actually use. By using Brick Network's innovative "mean sustained average" formula, the access charge for a typical customer would fall into the 0 - 256k/month rate group of $400/month. A savings of over $800.00/month.

Service Includes

Pricing Notes

1. Prices do not include local loop fees from the telephone company.
2. Frame Relay speed is based on the purchased interface from the telephone company.
3. Burstable T-1's speed is determined by polling ports every 5 minutes. Service level is determined by averaging the measured usage.
4. Pricing may be changed at anytime.
5. Service is a subscription and fees are non-refundable once the service period has started. Credit card customers will be billed on the first day of the service period. It is the client's responsibility to notify Brick Network regarding cancellation of services.
